German industrial band, Einstürzende Neubauten, kick-started my fascination for industrial, noise and experimental music back in high school. EN incorporated nontraditional materials (e.g., power tools and shopping carts) with custom-made instruments, which helped to instill an element of dangerous experimentation into their onstage performances in the 80s. Whenever I listen to this album, images of the Battle of Berlin (and the Battle of Stalingrad) come to mind.
