I have been slowed down by uncertainty. My brushstrokes are shaky, my color choice questionable. But when my art finds its flow and begins to pour out of me as fluidly as daydreams transfer onto my consciousness, all else in my life—all concerns, complications, desires, and misfortunes dissolve away, leaving me to find refuge, support, and love in the work that I create. Or rather, the work creates itself and my hand is merely the vehicle that enables the image to flourish on canvas and paper.
