Numina Manifesto…

Numina celebrates the unique lived experiences of all individuals who consciously (and unconsciously) co-create artwork (however that may look) with beings from other dimensions/realities (whatever/whoever that/they may be).

Numina embraces the various ways in which we call/label these beings, based on personal preference, as well as ethnic, cultural, and spiritual backgrounds, etc. These beings are sometimes perceived as angelic beings, entities, human spirits, faeries, aliens, demons, animal spirits, shapeshifters, deities, elementals, (fill in the blank), etc., etc.

Numina believes that consciousness/mind exists beyond the limitations of its temporal container (i.e., corporeality), made up of energy that cannot be neither created nor destroyed. We embrace our limited knowledge of these ways of being in the multiverse because we know that our understanding of such concepts is much too rudimentary to scientifically anchor into our current state of knowing.

Numina values the breadth of ways to interact with spirituality.

Numina is wholeheartedly against pathologizing these types of experiences, and demands a more open-minded, empathic and holistic approach to lived experiences that are considered outliers in a patriarchal, psychologically-constructed “normalcy” scale.

Numina defends the human experience over quantifiable data that is inherently reductionist, skeptical, and suspicious of spiritual and creative ways of being.

Numina understands that interpersonal relationships between humans and subtle (and not so subtle) beings are not only a possibility, but occurring throughout the globe, helping humanity to raise its consciousness one interaction at a time.

Numina affirms the dark and light (and everything in between) of co-creating with these beings. Numina does not view these experiences in a saccharin or exclusively optimistic manner, knowing that the integration of such experiences can be challenging, thus inspiring artwork that can be as disturbing as they are sublime.

Numina relishes in the strange and unusual and celebrates death as the ultimate rite of passage. Seances, cemetery outings, gothic lifestyles, Enochian magick, death witchery and other subaltern chthonic practices and lifestyles that embrace postmortem existence fall within the purview of this movement.
