My Specific Strengths with the "Clairs"
Unlike truly gifted ghost whisperers out there, I don’t have any control of how the spiritual information will come to me.
Although, there are many similarities in how sensitives experience messages from the dead, each of us will have our specific area (or areas) where our “gifts” are better equipped.
If you’ve been reading my posts, you’ll know that to some extent, I’ve experienced several "clairs" to varying degrees except for clarirgustance. Clairtangency or psychometry, as I like to call it, is something I have only begun to experience on very occasions, but already, I find it exciting to gather info in this manner.
Unlike truly gifted ghost whisperers out there, I don’t have any control of how the spiritual information will come to me. The ghosts drive the clairs. If they want me to see a place, I’ll have a clairvoyant experience. If they want me to smell something related to their pasts (in Hans’s case, it’s always cigarette smoke–nicotine fiend!), then I will have an olfactory experience.
Creativity is My Best Tool for Channeling the Dead
Depending on where I’m at energetically, depends on what kinds of spirits will come through.
More often than not, when I write that I “heard” a ghost say something, it’s not in the literal sense. I’ve only heard spirits speak like normal people no more than three or so times (not including, whistling, growling, laughter and other paranormal sounds). The most readily available clairs to me are physical touch, emotion, and images, that is, whenever my abilities decide to kick in.
Regarding channeling. I do it most successfully when I dance, sing, write and draw. In other words, for me, creative expression is the best tool for channeling. Depending on where I’m at energetically, depends on what kinds of spirits will come through. In the Morgan Building at UPenn, I unknowingly channeled ghost girls from when the building had been an orphanage, back in the 1800s. I think that other artists in the building were also channeling the ghost girls, be it intentionally or inadvertently. Most of us in the building were painting in pinks, focused on prepubescent and adolescent female subjects.
Below, is a quick rundown of the “Clairs” that a ghost whisperer may possess (as well as a short description about channeling), copied directly from Quantum Possibilities:
CLAIR SENSES
This collective word phrase includes any or all types of psychic sensitivity corresponding to the senses: seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, tasting, touching. Clair Senses in psychic terms are translated:
clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, clairscent, clairtangency, and clairgustance. Additional gifts are clairempathy and channeling.
CLAIRVOYANCE
Clairvoyant (clear vision) — To reach into another vibrational frequency and visually perceive “within the mind’s eye” something existing in that realm. A clairvoyant is one who receives extrasensory impressions, and symbols in the form of “inner sight” or mental images which are perceived without the aid of the physical eyes and beyond the limitations of ordinary time and space. These impressions are more easily perceived in an alpha state and during meditation, though many clairvoyants can obtain visual information regarding the past, present and future in a variety of environments.
CLAIRAUDIENCE
Clairaudience (clear audio /hearing) — To perceive sounds or words and extrasensory noise, from sources broadcast from spiritual or ethereal realm, in the form of “inner ear” or mental tone which are perceived without the aid of the physical ear and beyond the limitations of ordinary time and space. These tones and vibrations are more easily perceived in an alpha state and during meditation, though many clairaudients can obtain verbal and sound-related information regarding the past, present and future in a variety of environments. Most Channelers (also known as Mediums) work with both clairvoyance and clairaudience.
CLAIRSENTIENCE
Clairsentience (clear sensation or feeling) – To perceive information by a “feeling” within the whole body, without any outer stimuli related to the feeling or information. (Also see clairempathy)
CLAIRSCENT
Clairscent (clear smelling) – To smell a fragrance/odor of substance or food which is not in one’s surroundings. These odors are perceived without the aid of the physical nose and beyond the limitations of ordinary time and space.
CLAIRTANGENCY
Clairtangency (clear touching) — More commonly known as psychometry. To handle an object or touch an area and perceive through the palms of one’s hands information about the article or its owner or history that was not previously known by the clairtangent.
CLAIRGUSTANCE
Clairgustance (clear tasting) — To taste a substance without putting anything in one’s mouth. It is claimed that those who possess this ability are able to perceive the essence of a substance from the spiritual or ethereal realms through taste.
CLAIREMPATHY
Clairempathy (clear emotion) – An Empath is a person who can psychically tune into the emotional experience of a person, place or animal. Clairempathy is a type of telepathy to sense or feel within one’s self, the attitude, emotion or ailment of another person or entity. Empaths tune into the vibrations and “feel” the tones of the aura.
CHANNEL/CHANNELING
Channel — A person who allows his/her body and mind to be used as a mechanism for etheric world intelligence to bring psychic information or healing energy to others.
Channeling — To allow an etheric world intelligence to enter one’s mind and impress thoughts upon the consciousness to be spoken aloud, using one’s voice or body to deliver the information or healing energy.
